Biography: A native of Queens, New York, Fran Drescher used her background and her Jewish heritage to create her most famous role - that of Fran Fine in the sitcom "The Nanny" (1993-98). Drescher also created and produced the show alongside her then husband Peter Marc Jacobson. She was nominated for two Golden Globes and two Emmys for her performance.
In 2021 Drescher was voted president of the screen actors union SAG-AFTRA and led it through a five month strike in 2023.
