Johnny Wactor Killing: Multiple Suspects Detained in Connection to General Hospital Acto

At least three suspects were served search warrants by the LAPD homicide bureau in connection to the death of Johnny Wactor, law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times on Thursday. Two were detained in lieu of bail. The 37-year-old, who featured on “General Hospital,” was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles on May 25 during a suspected catalytic converter theft attempt.

The Times reported that anonymous law enforcement sources shared that the Wactor investigation is looking into Florencia 13 gang members tied to catalytic converter thefts in the area. A statement of probable cause was used to obtain warrants for three individuals, whose fingerprints matched those lifted from a floor jack that was employed to steal Wactor’s catalytic converter.

“On May 25, my dearest and best friend’s son was murdered. He was the victim of the most senseless crime,” Kinard wrote on the page. “Early Saturday morning, Johnny was leaving his evening job with a coworker when they came upon three guys attempting to steal his catalytic converter. He thought he was going to be towed and said ‘Am I being towed?’ The person stood up with a mask on and said nothing and shot him.”

“With God‘s will, the killer will be arrested and the family will see him face to face,” Kinard added. “This may help bring closure to this tragedy. Any excess donations will be donated to the charities the family chooses in memory of Johnny.”

On “General Hospital,” Wactor portrayed Brando, the son of Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Borroughs) and husband to drug addict Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson). Wactor’s tenure on the show spanned from 2020 to 2022 and stretched for more than 160 episodes.
